The Bamboo Difference
Why Do We Use Bamboo Composite in Our Decks?
There are many great benefits to using bamboo in our revolutionary decking systems. Traditional treated lumber is on its way out and bamboo is on the horizon, but why? Well, treated lumber can be dangerous and is being regulated by some states.
Wood Vs. Bamboo Decks
- Wood decks just don't last as long as a bamboo composite deck can. Bamboo is a great filler component in our decking systems because it has a low oil content and doesn't clump like wood does. Bamboo particles do not clump leading to an even, homogenous product.
- Wood decks are more susceptible to mold and mildew damage. Mold and mildew cannot feed on our products. Additives help prevent mold and mildew from feeding on our deck boards. However, it is important to note that mold can still live on the bamboo, but it cannot deteriorate the integrity of the deck.
- Bamboo grows much faster than wood! It is fully grown in only three years.
